Admission and parking are always free. Inspired by the centuries-old Christmas markets of Germany and wrapped in Southern hospitality, the market brings together more than 40 vendors, festive attractions, live entertainment, and beloved holiday traditions for the whole family.
For families across Alabama, the Southeast, and well beyond, the Cullman Christkindlmarkt has become the place to begin — and return to — a Christmas tradition of their own.

Christkind Season of Giving
This year, the Cullman Christkindlmarkt introduces a meaningful new tradition rooted in centuries-old German custom. The Christkind (Christ Child) represents the spirit of Christmas generosity—and we're inviting you to help bring hope and joy to children in need throughout our community.
From November 19–December 23, every week of the market highlights local charities serving children, from providing nourishment and shelter to healing and growth. Look for participating vendors displaying special signage, visit our Charity Hut, or donate via QR codes throughout the market. With hundreds of thousands of guests, even small acts of kindness create tremendous impact.

What is a Christkindlmarkt?
A Christkindlmarkt — German for "Christ Child market," and often searched as a Kris Kringle market or simply a German Christmas market — is a traditional open-air holiday market with roots stretching back centuries in Germany. Cullman, Alabama was founded by German immigrant John G. Cullmann in 1873, which makes it a fitting home for one of the South's most authentic German Christmas markets.
Held each holiday season at Depot Park in the heart of downtown Cullman, the market blends German tradition with Southern charm: handcrafted goods from more than 40 vendors, German food and drink, a towering Christmas pyramid, attractions for all ages, and live entertainment throughout the season. It has grown into a regional destination that welcomes hundreds of thousands of visitors each year and draws families from across Alabama and all 50 states.
Best of all, admission and parking are free — so it's easy to make the Cullman Christkindlmarkt part of your family's holiday tradition, whether you live down the street or you're planning a trip from Birmingham, Huntsville, Nashville, or Atlanta.
